Event Ambassadors
Events assist us to raise not only much needed funds, but also awareness of our organisation and our beloved breed. They include everything from BBQs to expos and we are always on the look out for new opportunities to spread the word. Event Ambassadors provide advice on the needs of German Shepherds, educate the public about what we do and inform people about our current dogs looking for their forever homes. Property Checks
To ensure that our dogs find the very best homes, we carry out property checks on all potential adopters and foster applicants. Property Check volunteers confirm that applications have been filled in accurately and that the environments into which we might place dogs will be suitable for German Shepherds. However, they also have a vital role in chatting to applicants about their requirements and experience as well as our services and procedures.
Transport
Transport volunteers make sure our precious cargo gets from point of departure to destination safely. Transport may involve collecting surrenders, taking dogs to meets with potential adopters, and transporting to and from veterinary appointments. Some dogs may find these situations particularly stressful, so it helps if our transport volunteers are comfortable handling a range of dogs, but our first priority is always our volunteers comfort and safety.
General Admin
We are always looking for people with strong administrative skills to help us with the day-to-day work of coordinating a rescue organisation. If this is something at which you excel, or in which you would like to develop your skills, contact us for more details.
